Terry Slevin from Borrisokane has officially cut the ribbon to unveil
Avista’s new North Tipperary base for adults with intellectual disabilities, funded and supported by the
HSE Ireland.
Visitors were welcomed from across our community to the grand opening of our new building, dedicated to enhancing services for people with intellectual disabilities in North Tipperary and Offaly.
This new building, located at The Maltings, Roscrea is designed to be a central hub, providing a wide range of support services to 148 local people living with intellectual disabilities.
Avista has over 410 staff from across the Midlands and currently supports 101 individuals in community houses across Nenagh, Thurles, Birr, Roscrea, Cloughjordan, Moneygall, Templemore and Shinrone, Borrisokane. It also provides Day Services to 47 individuals in Birr, Roscrea, Thurles and Nenagh.
We are now afforded modern offices, meeting rooms, training facilities as well as therapeutic spaces on site, where clinicians can meet the people we support, in suitable environments. We cannot wait to make the most of this exciting new chapter.
