Make it Work – Inclusion Ireland

Throughout this year, people from Avista attended Inclusion Ireland, “Make it Work” events. The purpose of the events was to see how to make employment more inclusive for people with intellectual disabilities.

Inclusion Ireland launched their Employment Code of Practice, which provides great resources for both people with intellectual disabilities and employers. This code of practice will help us all to develop employment opportunities and ensure our supports align with employment standards.

Inclusion Ireland’s, Make it Work, Working Group launched the “Make it Work” podcast. This podcast offers insights into the people’s employment journey, their challenges, engagements with employers and what success looks like.

Inclusion Ireland also showcased a video on the work done throughout the year, it gives an understanding of the supports needed for people with an intellectual disability to access good quality jobs.
