Advocacy in Action: Avista St.Louise’s pedestrian crossing gets the green light.🚦
Over the last few years, our team at Avista St. Louise’s have been on a quest to make Knockmaroon junction safer and more accessible for the local community. Simple activities like going to the adjacent Phoenix Park Dublin for some fresh air or a stroll to the Wrights Anglers Rest for a nice meal has required lot’s of planning in the past, and in most cases a bus for transportation, as the junction proved too dangerous for pedestrians to navigate.
That’s not the case this week, a new pedestrian crossing with wheelchair friendly pathways, is now open for use.
We would particularly like to thank Fingal County Council Access Officer Cathal Kearney, Cllr. Siobhan Shovlin, Deputy Emer Currie TD – Dublin West and our neighbours Mount Sackville Secondary School for collaborating with us to ensure this much needed junction received the funding and attention it deserved.
