National Platform of Self Advocates – Avista

The National Platform of Self Advocates hosted a ‘Here Our Voices’ meeting in The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission offices on the 28^th of November.

A group attended from St Vincent’s and represented their peers in highlighting some issues of concern. The issues raised were around public transport, funding and paid employment, Aishling O Connell stood up and presented a few words on behalf of her over all team on the day.

In the new year, the ladies plan on working with the advocacy groups in St Vincent’s, Nava Rd and further, to give information on joining forces with The National Platform of Self Advocates, who raise issues for Persons With Disabilities in The Dail.
